Allison Round
My name is Allison, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate with a master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Rhode Island. I am dedicated to working with individuals across all age groups, as well as couples and families, to foster meaningful therapeutic progress.
During sessions, I create a secure and supportive environment where clients can openly discuss their challenges and work towards achieving their therapeutic goals. I am committed to meeting clients where they are and emphasizing their inherent strengths. My approach is systemic, acknowledging that while each client is unique, their experiences are influenced by their family background, relationships, and life events.
My goal is to support the development of strong, resilient relationships and facilitate growth both individually and collectively. My areas of expertise include family conflict, academic issues, relationship difficulties, divorce, life transitions, anxiety, depression, OCD, grief and loss, and trauma.
I base my treatment approach on family systems theory, complemented by interventions such as solution-focused and emotion-focused therapies. Additionally, I incorporate narrative therapy to empower clients in reshaping their personal narratives and enhancing their sense of agency.
