Psychological Testing & Evaluations

Sometimes symptoms overlap, diagnoses aren’t clear, or you simply know that something is getting in the way but aren’t sure why. Psychological testing can help provide a clearer understanding of how a person thinks, learns, processes information, regulates emotions, and functions in everyday life.

Brightside Behavioral Health offers comprehensive psychological testing and diagnostic evaluations for children and adults, with a focus on ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Intellectual Disability, as well as evaluations for other mental health concerns and diagnostic clarification.

The evaluation process may include clinical interviews, standardized testing, questionnaires, review of relevant history or records, and input from parents, caregivers, teachers, or other providers when appropriate. The specific assessment is individualized based on the questions and concerns that bring you in.

Once testing is complete, the goal is to give you more than a diagnosis. Results are explained in a way that helps you understand what they mean and what to do next. Recommendations may include therapy, medication management, strategies for home or work, or additional supports and accommodations.

For children and teens, testing can also provide valuable information when determining appropriate school supports, including IEPs and 504 Plans. With permission, our team can collaborate with schools and other providers to help families better understand recommendations and advocate for appropriate supports.

Because Brightside offers psychological testing, therapy, and medication management within the same practice, care can remain connected from evaluation through treatment. Our goal is to help you get answers and make sure those answers lead to meaningful support.
