In 2019 it came to our attention that there have been a number of tragic losses among our first responders. This has had a significant impact on our community, families, and friends of our fallen.
Recognizing the delayed effects of traumatic stress, we have started work with the Rhode Island Chapter of The International Association of Firefighters, offering education, awareness, and co-facilitation of support groups.
In response to this need, we established the PTSD/EMDR Center. Our Company, Brightside Behavioral Health, LLC is offering employees training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Our hope is to connect with all of our first responder communities.
