Hello! My name is Shannon, and I am a mental health counselor. I have been working with clients in a hospital and community-based setting for over 7 years before earning my master’s degree. I knew early on; my passion was to help people. Through my years of education and experience, I have been led to where I am today, a clinician! I received my bachelor’s degree in 2017, in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. I gained experience in the working field as I navigated my next steps for the future. I first started working with children in a one-on-one setting, providing them with necessary services in the community and in their homes. From there, I worked in an inpatient hospital setting working with children and adolescents. I continued my experience working with adults in an inpatient forensic hospital in Rhode Island. I have worked with many age groups across the developmental lifespan!

In May of 2023, I graduated with my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I am currently working toward my license. My main goal is to provide my clients with a safe and supportive environment where I can hold space for them to meet their own goals and safely address their life experiences and traumas without feeling as though they are being judged. It is always my intention to create a space that feels completely supported. I can be described as gentle and warm when working with clients. I take a person-centered approach, meeting my clients where they are at. I am committed to ensuring my clients receive the best care, making sure that they feel heard, understood, and validated while advocating for them and their needs.

I enjoy working with individuals in helping to re-create a vision that is sustainable, safe, and enjoyable for them to thrive in as they move forward. I have attained extensive skills working with clients in diverse communities such as LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and those incarcerated. I have had the honor of working with individuals on a large scale of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, psychosis, anger management, bipolar disorders and more.
