About Us

We are here to help you find
the Brightside of Life.

Brightside Behavioral Health was established to support individuals, families, and the community.
We provide high-quality behavioral health services by applying our values of compassion, awareness, recognition, and education.
We believe these four core values are keys to addressing many of our mental health needs. You are not only a client, you are also one of us, and together we are a community!

Our Philosophy

In order to experience our deepest recesses of joy and peace, we must first have the courage to face our fears.
That’s why our therapists use a wide range of research-proven therapy techniques to help transform anxiety, depression, and loneliness into joy, freedom, and connectedness.

So whatever your situation, our goal is to help you find clarity, purpose, and strength. Through the therapy process, we will help you cultivate an unshakeable resiliency that you carry into every challenge you face.

The purpose of our therapy practice is to help you become free from the grip of anxiety, depression, addiction, and hurtful relationships. As human beings, we all struggle. Healing is when these struggles no longer control you.

We offer affordable, professional therapy in a comfortable, relaxing, and safe private environment in our offices and through online video sessions.

We are here to help you find the Brightside of Life. You will receive full individualized treatment from accredited licensed therapists.

Our Campaign

In 2019 it came to our attention that there have been a number of tragic losses among our first responders.

This has had a significant impact on our community, families, and friends of our fallen.

Firefighters and police officers put their own lives at risk for the public during an emergency.
But who’s there for them?

An NBC 10 I-Team investigation found an alarming number of Rhode Island first responders are taking their own lives.

The NBC 10 I-Team learned that the Wall family is part of a tragic trend. At least six Rhode Island firefighters have died from suicide this year.
Experts fear the real number may be even higher.

Licensed therapist Hallie Fleischman of Brightside Behavioral Health works with Rhode Island first responders.

“There is that stigma, and it’s a very difficult thing to get over and work through and for people to understand,” said Fleischman.

She said long hours, overnight shifts with little or no sleep, and repeated exposure to danger, death, and violence can all take a toll.

“They still have to be a husband, a wife, a mother, a father, a sister, a brother. They still need to be there to support their own, and it’s so very difficult when you carry so much around with you,” Fleischman said.

Recognizing the delayed effects of traumatic stress, we have started work with the Rhode Island Chapter of The International Association of Firefighters, offering education, awareness, and co-facilitation of support groups.

In response to this need, we established the PTSD/EMDR Center. Our Company, Brightside Behavioral Health, LLC is offering employees training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Our hope is to connect with all of our first responder communities.

If you have a strong desire to help. If you share our passion, we would love to hear from you!
